Fiochetta comes from fiocco — the Italian word for bow or ribbon.
Calf velour is denser than suede, more structured, with a matte surface that holds color at a depth other leathers don't reach. When I found this material at our Neapolitan tannery I knew immediately it needed its own shoe. Run your thumb across it once. The rest of the description becomes unnecessary.
