The name Oriana is traced to the Latin aurum, gold. It reached Italy in the sixteenth century with Amadís de Gaula, the Spanish romance of chivalry. Oriana was the princess Amadís loved: the woman he carried with him, even when she wasn't there.
This loafer takes its colour from the Italian countryside in October. A deep emerald green, like the hills when the light drops low and everything turns richer.
